Welcome students and families to Unity Drive School!
We are so excited to welcome all of you to the new school year. We all know that children are born learners who find excitement in discovery. We also understand that each child is an individual and each individual has their unique experiences. Our Unity Drive team will care for, guide, inspire, and appropriately challenge our young learners. Our teachers, teaching assistants, aides, special area teachers, nurse, social workers, psychologist, therapists, office staff, custodial staff, and kitchen staff all work in unison to ensure your child has the best school experience. Our goal is to instill a love of learning. Your children will be so excited to come to school to explore our Outdoor Classroom, engage in science experiments, problem solve, express creativity, explore literature and writing, understand the use of technology, and make friends! As the year progresses you will see them become more confident and more independent. You will see them smile with delight as they share what they learned with you each day. Take time to converse with your child each night. Conversations not only reinforce the concepts they learned during the day, but they strengthen your parent/child bond. Conversation also fosters the development of language acquisition, vocabulary, planning, and social skills.
We have a very strong partnership with PTA. These hardworking volunteers plan and organize fun and educational activities throughout the year for both students and families. Through fundraising activities, the PTA sponsors our Arts and Education Programs, field trips, book fairs, holiday boutiques, family dances/events, PARP (Parents as Reading Partners) events and prizes, among other fun and engaging activities. Please consider joining the PTA this year. Even a bite size piece of your time helps tremendously to ensure our students and families are engaged and involved in all of Unity Drive’s activities.
